Jingle Bell Rock
This video was recorded last December, 2008. Ambrosia was going to school only half-days so we had lots more time to learn songs and record them for our friends.
The lyrics are written below the video so have some fun and sing along!
Jingle Bell Rock
Christmas Lyrics by Bobby HelmsJingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begunJingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancing and prancing in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air. What a bright time, it’s the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell timeTo go gliding in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in the jingling feet
That’s the jingle bell,
That’s the jingle bell,
That’s the jingle bell rock.
Jingle Bell Rock – it was first released by Bobby Helms in 1957 and has received frequent airplay during every Holiday Season time since then. “Jingle Bell Rock” was written by Jim Boothe and Joe Beal.
Frosty the Snowman
This video was recorded about the same time as Jingle Bell Rock. Typically, each song took us about a week to learn. To get a ‘good’ version would usually require about 15-20 takes. While the videos look fun, both Ambrosia and I would be pretty frazzled after all the trial runs and miscues. My hats off to teachers who work with little kids all day long!
Frosty The Snowman
Music and Lyrics by Steve ‘Jack’ Rollins and Steve Nelson
First recorded by Gene Autry in 1950Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal.Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of snow but the children
Know how he came to life one day. There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around.O, Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be,
And the children say he could laugh
And play just the same as you and me.Thumpety thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpety thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow.
Frosty the Snowman was written in response to Gene Autry’s mega-hit, Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer recorded just the previous year in 1949. Mr. Autry once again spun his magic and another mega-hit was created.
All I Want for Christmas
If we had time to learn and record a song this year, it would probably be, “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth”. Oh yes, we’ve got that great big gaping hole in our smile for Christmas!
Hope this helped you get into the Christmas Spirit! You gotta Love That Feeling!
