The Date Has Been Set
Already, the excitement is building towards my 40th High School Class Reunion.
40 years – as in FORTY YEARS! Are you kidding me?
Well ever since the big announcement on FaceBook, I’ve been waxing nostalgic. It has been great hooking up with old classmates, most of whom I have not seen or heard from in decades. FaceBook has made that all possible. But seeing everyone live and in person this October will be a real kick.
Lately, Maggie has been hinting at my FaceBook ‘addiction’. Sure, I’ll admit it… I spend a fair amount of time. But it’s not like I’m hooked or anything (deny, deny). And just to prove it, I spent the entire evening last night on my former addiction – um, I mean one of my old favorite places to visit – YouTube!
There I was able to continue my trip down memory lane and i’ve come to the same conclusion yet again… the music of the 70′s is some of the best writing and performing ever!
Starting with today’s post and over the next 19 postings, I’ll be covering 200 of the best songs of the 70′s. They will be in easy to manage blocks of 10 (hey, it takes me a couple of hours to compile all these tunes – so see, I DON’T spend ALL my time on FB and YT… just MOST of it!)
Anyway, we’ll start our journey with the top ten songs of 1970 and we’ll continue the next nine installments with the top 10 songs of each year through 1979. THEN, as an added bonus, I’ll review another countdown of an additional 100 greatest songs from the 70′s.
The boat leaves NOW – hop on! Click on each link to go directly to the video of the song. Once you are on that page, you’ll find other links that will give you further background information on the song and the artists.
